Insights Discovery

We know how important Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is and we are delighted to share exciting training and other development opportunities, exclusively to our members. If you are an accredited coach and would like to share your wisdom then we’d love to hear from you.

Psychometrics

Some coaches like to use psychometric assessments in their coaching work, typically these provide a profile reporting on either personality or behaviour, which can help to provide context to a coachee’s objectives.  Whenever we’ve discussed their use at our meetings there has always much interest and debate as to their merit or not.  Undoubtedly there are 100’s to choose from so we thought it might be helpful to new and established coaches to build a resource whereby without any obligation or approach to providers, members could discover for themselves how different tools work and how our wider community use them.

We’d like to invite any coaches who are licensed or qualified to use a psychometric assessment to offer their expertise, hopefully at a discounted rate to other SECG members.  We’ve recently added a Professional Development page to our website and we’d like to build a resource that others’ can benefit from.

If you use any form of assessment and you’d be prepared to provide an overview to a member of our group , please can you email Nick Allsopp at membership@southeastcoaching.org using the following format:

Name of assessment:  Harrison’s assessment (HATs)

Use:  HATs is based on two theories – Paradox Theory and Enjoyment Theory.  The assessment I use, reports on a range of different behaviours and proposes that to be truly effective in any area, we actually have to balance opposing or paradoxical behaviours.   Each report is unique and the assessment takes about 20 mins to complete on-line.  Clients report that it is very accurate and because it’s based on behaviours, areas identified within the assessment can underpin coaching objectives. The report also identifies “flip” behaviours which are a stress response to a particular situation.  The question to ask is: “Do your behaviours serve you well?” – if yes fantastic, if not , then think of HATs as a dashboard that will highlight areas that you may wish to fine-tune.

Offer:  If you’d like to find out more about Harrison’s, see your own profile, understand how the tool works and benefit from a debrief (lasting around 90 mins) for a reduced cost of £99.  Please message Nick directly at nick@crescat.co.uk.

Insights Discovery

Use: Insights Discovery is a psychometric tool that is based on the psychology of Carl Jung and designed to help people understand themselves and others, so that they make the most of their important relationships in the workplace. The Insights Discovery model is based on Carl Jung’s psychological types theory in which he proposed that all individuals exhibit a unique blend of behaviours as a result of the interaction of two attitudes – extraversion and introversion; and four functions split into rational (thinking and feeling) and irrational (sensation and intuition). The Insights Discovery methodology uses a simple and memorable four colour model to represent these behaviours. We call these the colour energies, and it’s the unique mix of Fiery Red, Sunshine Yellow, Earth Green and Cool Blue energies.

A 25-frame questionnaire that takes about 15 minutes to complete, measures the extent to which an individual exhibits the behaviours associated with each colour energy. The resulting Profile gives a summary of the individual’s personal style, how they interact with others and make decisions. It also gives key strengths and weaknesses, as well as ways to develop, and how the individual would prefer to be communicated with.

The consistent feedback we get on Insights Discovery profiles is that it’s almost as if they’ve been followed around or their mind has been read! The profiles are helpful to use in the coaching setting, as they help the individual make sense of why they may be in conflict or work well with someone in their workplace. It often gives rise to moments of realisation such as “Ah, that’s why they’re not enthusiastic about giving team talks…” and from this understanding, they’re able to change their approach to working with their colleagues resulting in more effective collaboration.

Offer: Receive your Insights Discovery profile (£120 +VAT) and benefit from a free debrief (lasting around 90 mins) from either Toby or Nicky who are part of Blue Gnu Consulting Ltd. Please message Toby (toby@bluegnuco.com) or Nicky (nicky@nickybunn.com).

Please note this offer is only available to SECG annual members.
